About Domite

DOMITE® is a laminated bi-metallic, wear resistant composite, which combines a highly alloyed chromium-molybdenum white iron (to AS 2027 15/3 Cr/Mo) bonded to a mild steel backing plate by vacuum brazing.  The resultant metallurgical bond possesses high shear strength of over 250 Mpa and will not separate.  The microstructure of the wear resistant alloy contains primary and secondary carbides up to 1800-2000 HV supported by a martensitic  matrix  to give the metal a nominal hardness of 700BHN (63RC).The mild steel backing plate provides a cushion or means of absorbing extremely high impact and loading as well as allowing the product to be welded, machined or stud bolted for fixing in place.

In addition, certain DOMITE® products can be cut or bent to suit application, prior to welding and fitment, to assist in customising the wear protection for any particular machine or equipment.

Long life DOMITE® offers extreme protection for extreme applications, resulting in increased production, less down time and lower maintenance costs.
